Elizabeth Boonin is a Certified Public Accountant and is the president and owner of Sound Accounting, a full-service accounting and business consulting firm in Smithtown, New York. Over her 22-year career, Elizabeth has provided expertise in corporate finance, tax accounting, business valuations, and accounting systems implementations for small businesses and individuals across more than 30 states. Prior to moving onto Long Island Elizabeth worked in the financial services industry for several multinational investment banks performing financial analysis for the equity derivatives division and program managing multi-million dollar technology initiatives. Her experience in finance and technology allows Elizabeth to value the sensitivity of private information and focus on data protection and security. Elizabeth earned her degree from the University of Maryland and her CPA from the New York Office of the Professions. She is also accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in business valuations (ABV), and holds her Series 7 and Series 66 FINRA licenses. She maintains a broker license within the state of New York for Accident, Health, and Life insurance (NYAHL), and is an Intuit QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Elizabeth is a member of the Suffolk County Woman Business Enterprise Coalition (SCWBEC)—being certified in 2015—the National Association of Tax Preparers (NATP), and the New York State Society of CPA’s (NYSSCPA). The accounting industry is headed for a major shift in the next several years due to the statistic that seventy-five percent of the existing CPA’s are expected to retire within the next decade. Couple this statistic with major tax reform and technological advances, finding a seasoned accountant with the experience of Ms. Boonin is invaluable to both individuals and businesses alike.
